Lenovo has rolled out two new services, which are aimed at helping its customers significantly reduce downtime. The new services, PC Protection and Data Recovery, will insure Lenovo notebooks from accidental damage and will offer data recovery from a faulty hard disk.

Sudhir Puthran, Director (Services and Support), Lenovo India, said, "In a mobile working environment, customers require their PCs to be up and running with minimal downtime. The two new services will allow users to get back their data on track."

Lenovo's Protection Service offers a performancerelated insurance to enterprise and individual users' notebooks, arising out of accidental drop or an inadvertent liquid spill. As per a company communiqu , the service will reduce the downtime with immediate repair or replacement of the faulty device. The protection cover can be availed for a period up to three years, and it covers all kinds of repairs and replacements arising out of operational or structural failures under normal operating conditions. The service, however, does not cover theft or loss, cosmetic damage that does not affect the performance of the machine and damage due to fire and intentional acts.
