The threeyear warranty offer launched by Lenovo has helped its partners to bag more demand than they used to receive earlier.The channel community recorded about 2030 percent increase in their sales. According to Uttham Paras of Paras Computer, “In the past two months, demand for Lenovo idea pads have increased by 30 percent. Warranty support is an important issue and when they get a 3year warranty, they prefer Lenovo over any other brands.” Paras runs three retail stores in Trichy, one of them is a Lenovo exclusive, while the other two are multibrand stores.Agrees Binu Shivarajan, of Keralabased Wintech Systems and Services, “The new scheme is appealing to our customers and we are getting booking for the laptops. The awareness is very low and more TV and media ads would have attracted more customers.”Galaxy IT Concepts, Mumbai, has recorded about 10 percent increase in sale of Lenovo laptops only. “This scheme has attracted many customers to buy laptops,” said Ashwin Kukhreja, director of the company. The company has 2 Lenovo exclusive stores, one HP exclusive and a multibrand retail store.Another retailer, Sogo Computers, that has 6 retail stores in Bangalore, including two Lenovo exclusive stores, has seen substantial growth in business. Alok Kumar, Senior Sales Manager, PC Division, Sogo, said, “Since, only Lenovo is the only brand running an offer with its products, it is succeeding in drawing customers. About 40 percent of our customers who bought laptops in these 2 months were Lenovo customers.”Started from April 16, this offer was initially valid till May end, but looking at the success of the offer, partners requested the vendor to increase the date by another month. And now, they plan to not only to extend the offer for more days but also for more models.According to the offer, the vendor is offered a free 3year warranty upgrade on select range of these products instead of the standard 1year warranty plus a free 1year accidental damage
